This one’s called The Cook Off. Producers had to flip at least five samples from a Splice pack and turn it into a 45 to 60 second banger.
Out of all the entries, mine made it to the final round judged by none other than Just Blaze himself.
That means a lot.
Just Blaze has been one of the influences on how I think about drums, samples, and arrangement ! so to be selected in something he’s personally judging? That hits deep.
I won’t be in New York physically, but I’ll be locked in from Gadigal land (Sydney) and ready for it 2am.til 8am ! It’s still surreal to be part of this event with Just Blaze and the Splice community.
