First Press, First Class: Hanging with DJ Muro & Chily in Sydney

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in Sydney's vibrant music scene alongside esteemed Japanese artists DJ Muro and Chily san. We attended the launch of the "First Press" campaign, a collaborative endeavor between Kirin Ichiban, Deus Records, and DJ Muro, orchestrated by Monster Children and UM. This initiative celebrates the artistry and dedication inherent in both brewing and music production. This was paired with awesome short film which you can find here.

The event was a confluence of passionate individuals dedicated to their crafts. The atmosphere was electric, filled with engaging conversations and an undeniable appreciation for music and vinyl culture. Spending time with Chily and delving deep into musical discussions was both enlightening and inspiring.

During the shows, I also had the pleasure of connecting with talented artists from Brisbane, including DJ Sheep and DJ Yoshidog. Our conversations spanned various topics, from the nuances of vinyl collecting, DMC battles, beat making and to the evolving landscape of music production. These interactions reinforced the sense of community and shared passion that binds us as artists.

The venue itself was a highlight—a vinyl bar that seamlessly blended ambiance with an extensive collection of records. Sydney boasts several such establishments that cater to audiophiles and casual listeners alike. Caterpillar bar being the vibes that rocked the house on a Sunday night ! Seriously, Dj Muro slayed the floored with rare records you have probably never heard of, and this journey just kept getting better and better with consistent evolving grooves ! a true experience i will never forget ! with the "First Press" event and exploring Sydney's vinyl bar scene has deepened my appreciation for the city's rich musical tapestry. The fusion of cultures, dedication to craftsmanship, and the communal love for music continue to inspire my artistic journey.
